About

April Parrish holds a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music in Dance Performance; Emphasis in Ballet. Her 20+ year body of experience includes choreography, directorship, curriculum development and coaching as well as teaching at all levels. In 2000, April was honored by the Arts Council of Northwest Florida as the recipient of the Elvie DeMarko Dance Achievement Award founded in 1990 in recognition of lifetime achievement in the Fine Art of Dance.

 

In 2005, April was initiated into Shamanic Drum work by Vamarie Nanej; a Shamana and Drum maker of Central Asian Lineage. Her joy is founded in continuously discovering, expressing anew and celebrating the creative principles at work in all peoples and all life. April's work includes drum making, natural Earth pigment painting, mixed media sculpture and integrated arts as well as teaching art for all ages in a variety of mediums.

 

April lives in the East Mountains of New Mexico with her husband Christopher and their equine and canine animal family.... Prince, Chance, Piccolo and Maggie.
